Friday is a really busy day for me. Working all day and out at night usually. However, still want to keep going with the housework week. Didn't manage all my stuff yesterday. Got the floor in the bathroom done and the mirrors but not the worktops in the kitchen - will just roll it on till tomoz, busy though it may be.
Final Zone work for the week in the living-room - there is one corner of the room that all my craft/accounts/worl/knitting gets shoved whenever my darling daughter does her tidy-up for her weeks pocket money. For those of you who have read the older blogs, you may remember the 27 fling thing. There is, at least, 57 things lying in the corner of the sitting-room. Its just about putting 27 of them away.
Time to hoover and mop the kitchen floor and that wraps it up for the week. Next week the hall gets the zone treatment. Nite x

Feeling Very Lonely
Well, I really feel that I am definitely "home alone" on this blog just now. No new followers to 'jildy' me up. However, said I was here to stay so here goes. For Thursday, in the Zone, I am going to clean the mirror above the fire. As this is only a small task, I am going to include the bathroom mirrors and the mirrored wardrobes in my room.
Weekly kitchen is to spray and clean all work-tops, moving the toaster, kettle, microwave and such-like. I am going to clean the bathroom floor. I like to do this the old-fashioned way with a cloth and down on my hands and knees.
I am still working my way through the current hotspot which is the bedroom. Nearly there as in the floor is clear. I'm ready to start on clearing the surfaces in the bedroom. For each room in the house, for me, its going to be about clearing spaces out as if I was about to move house and only keeping what I would be packing. Only things I either love or have used within the past year. x

Wednesday Work
Hi guys, here we are again. We are in the lounge this week for Zone stuff. Following on from the daily duties of making our bed, swishing and wiping the toilet, getting dressed and loading up the washing machine, it falls todaay that I am going to sort out the contents of a pouffe (you might have a drawer or stuff shoved under cushions). Empty it out and sort into papers that need filed, ones that need action and ones that need binned. Don't let those paper mountains grow. I file important papers in a lever arch file (one for each person). Anything that needs actioned goes into a studded pocket file and I try to deal with 1 a day till its empty again.
The weekly chores for today are in the kitchen and bathroom. In the kitchen, when I am preparing dinner, I fill the basin with hot soapy water ready for pots and pans I am using. Dinner isn't over till the kitchen has been left clean and tidy. I used to maybe load the dish-washer but never ever was able to follow through with tidying up after I had slaved over the cooker. It would have to be done the next day if no-one else in the house intervened before I could tackle the evening meal, once again.
Anyway, back to the weekly chore in here. It's time to clean the grill pan. I steep it in hot soapy water, spray the grill with cleaner and I use a metal scourer to give the cooker a good scrub. Lining the grill pan with foil lets you change the foil each time its used, keeping the grill clean.
In the bath-room, its time to clean the shower screen. I use Shower Shine and one of those shower scrunchies to get all tthe soap scum off the glass.
Is the house starting to take shape a little? My lot are definitely beginning to notice the difference and I am feeling so much more positive that I can actually get on top of this. See you back here tomorrow. x

My day
Hi all. Had a good day all in all. Managed to do the microwave, the sofas and the bathroom sink. When I took the plug out of the sink, found all sorts of goo and gloop almost blocking it. I put the plug into the dish-washer and poured a kettle of boiling water down the sink to melt the soap scum and clear the drain. Job done!
Part of my day is to make sure I put a load of washing on and hang a load up. This keeps the washing pile down well - its never all done but never unmanageable. I used to have a basement utility room with 4 stairs down to it. There could enough dirty washing down there to not need the stairs to climb into the room!! A wash a day keeps the monster at bay. I wash whites together at 60 degrees and colours at 40. I use fabric softener for whites only cos these include towels and I reckon there is enough within the machine to do both. A friend once told me that it is fab softener that eventually breaks your machine by furring up the tubes. He suggested that every now and then you put the machine through an empty cycle on the hottest temperature.
Zone work in the living-room for Tuesday - now that the suite got hoovered yesterday, the window is due a treat, not the outside - too cold! Just the inside. I use a spray glass cleaner and som kitchen roll.
Tuesday is bin day since the bin-man comes today. So, grab a bin-bag and go round every bin in the house. I have made sure there is one in every room - cuts down on rubbish left lying around. Empty them all and wash out any that need it. In the kitchen, the weekly task is to go through the fridge and throw out anything empty (yea, who puts empty containers in the fridge?) and anything out of date.
Lastly, I am going to hoover the downstairs hall. If you cant manage all these chores, dont pile them into the next day. Just do what you can - it will still be more than you have been doing!
When I have a few wee spare minutes, I fill up a wash-basket with a pile from the floor of my bed-room (the hot-spot I am working on at the moment) and sort it into stuff to put away, stuff to give away and stuff that belongs in another room. The give away goes into a plastic bag and as soon as it is full, it goes straight into the car and down to the charity shop. You should give away anything you haven't used for a year or anything that you don't love. Time for bed - nite x

Monday Stuff
For today, its all about routines. You tackle a weekly job in each room and this Monday is in the kitchen, the lounge and the main bathroom. I am going to clean out the microwave when I get in tonight. If its been a while, a bowl of water inside on a 10 minute timer will loosen off all the grit and goo nicely. I dont like to spray stuff in here cos its for food so some lemon juice in the water is great to eliminate smells.
The Zone this week is the lounge so the job for today is to strip the cushions off the sofas and hoover underneath. Turn the cushions over.
And finally, in the main bathroom, spray the sink with some nice bathroom cleaner and give the sink a right good clean including all round the taps. I like to pour some bleach down the plug-hole -keeps it fresh in there.

Day of Rest!
Ok, today is sort of a day of rest but i use it to reinforce my daily routine;
Sunday is the sort of day you clean out the inside of ur car or wash the outside. At the moment, mines looks like a homeless person has taken up residence in it! It smells! Therefore, here goes! Armed with 2 carrier bags - one for the rubbish and one for the stuff that needs to come into the house, i grab my faithful Henry ( little red hoover with the face on) and head out to the nasty vehicle. I sort through the front first clearing the stuff into each bag and shifting anything that is to stay in the car into the boot. Then poor Henry has to do his thing eating up old chips, dirt and unmentionables lurking under the seats. Febreze the seats, hook a plastic bag around the gear-stick in the hope that you will put the next load of empty Pepsi bottles in and bring out the old faithful baby wipes for the dash and steering-wheel - ta -ra!!!!!! all done.
Night-time routine
Nite nite x
- as soon as you get up, make ur bed. its amazing how much nicer it is to climb back into at night than when its a crumpled up mess. Think how the bed looks - is it time to treat yourself to a new duvet cover/bed throw/cushions to match? It makes all the difference to your sanctuary.
- open ur curtains/blinds and open the window
- squirt some toilet cleaner around the bowl of the pan and leave it whilst you get washed and dressed and teeth-brushed. Go back and give the toilet a scrub with your toilet brush (have you got 1?) I leave bleach diluted with a small amount of water in the bottom of the brush-bowl-stops it smelling. Next, i always have baby wipes in the bathroom so i now use these to wipe round the seat and top of the toilet-pan for the little boy spillages or territory markings - you decide.
- when you get dressed, its all the way to makeup and jewellery -boost ur self-esteem by looking AND feeling good.
- collect your bottled water from the fridge and go, picking up your to-do list and stuff you need to take out with you today

Starting Over!!!!
Hi guys, I'm back! This time - to stay.
Day 1 of the fresh start! This week, the Zone is the kitchen and the Challenge is my bedroom.
'Zone' work is the room that I am concentrating on for the week and the 'Challenge' is somewhere in the house that you would like to be able to see the floor in first. Zone work gets done anytime throughout the day and Challenge work too.
Saturday Zone = Cupboard under the kitchen sink. Empty the top shelf, spray it with some cleaner, clean it off and replace what you want there. Mines has the pots, pans and collander. Only the top shelf, mind.
Then, spray the outside of the right-hand cupboard door and give it a wipe. Job done for today!
When tackling Challenge work, I divide the room into sections. For today, the floor on the side of the bed you get out of. Pick everything up off the floor and put it on top of the bed. Throw rubbish in the bin (mines is Malteser wrappers - packets and packets!). Books go back on the bookshelf apart from the one I am actually reading. Dirty clothes in the wash-basket, clean and un-ironed hung up in the wardrobe. you should now have a clear strip along the bed-side. get the hoover and hoover this bit - yes - just this bit. Enjoy the beginning of your whole house looking like this.
